Senior Analyst - Taxation & Regulatory Affairs

Job Context
  • Dealing with the activities relating to Income tax, VAT & RJSC matters of assigned business units under Expo Group, Bangladesh having business in the area of Freight Forwarding, Airlines GSA/GSSA, Construction, Power plant, Travel Agent, Courier Services, C & F agent, IT Enabled Service etc. under supervision of Head of taxation and Regulatory Affairs. This role also ensures full compliance with the relevant act, rules and regulations for all the SBUs under Expo Group, Bangladesh.
Job Responsibilities
  • Collection and preparation of below mentioned documents, evidence and reconciliation before preparation of tax return
  • Preparation of corporate tax return in compliance with income tax law and submission before Tax Day
  • Preparation of statement of transfer pricing where applicable
  • After receiving hearing notice for tax assessment, arranging all the documents as requisitioned by the DCT for income tax assessment.
  • Need to take approval from management for the expense as required for tax assessment.
  • Attending hearing with the tax authority such as DCT, Additional Commissioner, Commissioner of taxes for completion of tax assessment.
  • After completion of assessment, collecting Assessment order, tax computation sheet, demand notice and Payment of demanded tax for getting Tax clearance certificate.
  • In case of being aggrieved by the order of DCT, preparation of grounds of appeal, memorandum of appeal, Tax challan for filing appeal to Commissioner of Taxes (Appeal)
  • After attending hearing and submitting required documents, collecting appeal order form appeal authority and also collecting revised assessment order from DCT.
  • If we become aggrieved with the appeal order, need to prepare grounds of appeal, memorandum of appeal, Tax challan file appeal to Taxes Appellate Tribunal
  • After attending hearing and submitting required documents, collecting appeal order form appellate Tribunal and also collecting revised assessment order from DCT.
  • After final assessment, adjusting the tax amount with the accounts and make payment the demanded tax liability.
  • Conducting tax health check-up before finalization of accounts
  • Report to management based on the tax health-checkup.
  • After addressing all the recommended issues by the unit finance, finalization of accounts for getting audit report from the auditor
  • Providing guidance to SBU regularly regarding tax deduction at source (TDS) on updated rate.
  • Arranging session on updated TDS for all SBUs after publishing every finance act
  • Checking compliance of TDS on company's staff salaries.
  • Collection of monthly TDS statement (u/s: 58) from SBUs and submit to tax authority
  • Collection of half-yearly WHT return (u/s:75A) from SBUs and submit to tax authority
  • Preparation and submission of statement of salary (u/s: 108) for all SBUs including calculation of excess perquisite.
  • Preparation and submission of statement of employee's tax return submission (u/s:108A)
  • Calculation and payment of advance tax (u/s:64) on quarterly basis.
  • Follow-up submission of monthly VAT return & VDS challan by every SBU. To carry out personal tax matter of all Directors & submitted return to the tax authority.
  • To assist and solve all kinds of VAT related issues by dealing with the VAT authority.
  • Collection of VAT Registration, ETIN certificate etc. from Govt. authority.
  • Follow up and maintain all the compliance regarding RJSC matters

  • Bachelor degree in any discipline
  • Preferred Professional Certification: CA (CC) with partly Qualification

  • The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
    Corporate Affairs, Fair knowledge of TAX, Tax (VAT/ Customs Duty/ Income Tax)
